Where exactly are the lands purchased by Wilderness International located?
Three of the seven Canadian lands, the "Land of Eagles", the "Land of Wolves" and the "Land of Otters" are located on Porcher Island. The island is located on the northwest coast of Canada, about 40 km south of the port city of Prince Rupert. In 2022, we combined the protected areas on the island to form the "Misty Forest" region, and since then new land areas have been added there regularly. With these pieces of land the already existing nature reserve "Gitxaala Nii Luutiksm/Kitkala Conservancy" was extended.
The "Land of Grizzlies", the "Land of Ghost Flowers", the "Land of Wapitis" and the "Land of Hummingbirds" are located in the Toba Valley. This river valley is located about 160 km north of Vancouver City on the coast.
In Peru, our protected areas are located in the east of the country, in the Madre de Dios region, where our land expands two existing national parks and strengthens protection. The "Land of the Sloth" is located on the banks of the Tambopata River, about 50 km upstream from the city of Puerto Maldonado. Since 2022, we have combined all the land into the "Secret Forest" region, which is constantly expanding thanks to new land acquisitions.
