What is the Environmental Ambassador Program? What is behind "Wisdom Seekers Knowledge Keepers?"
This is an international scholarship program for nature conservation and global responsibility. The Environmental Ambassadors program enables particularly committed students to get to know the areas they have protected in the Wilderness Run. The centerpiece of the scholarship program is a multi-week expedition to Wilderness International protected areas in Canada. Dedicated 9th-11th grade students experience real wilderness up close, learn about First Nations culture and conduct their own science projects. In this way, an emotional connection is created and they can give an authentic account of this ecosystem and its importance. After the expedition, the scholarship holders become so-called environmental ambassadors who inspire others to protect the environment. By preparing a traveling exhibition with the research results and the experiences in the wilderness, they tell others about their experiences and share their newly acquired knowledge. Many former scholarship holders are also involved with Wilderness International after the end of the program, for example through an FÖJ or as working students.
