Does the carbon footprint sum up all my impacts on the earth?

However, ourCO2 emissions only express a fraction of the impact of our activities on the planet. It is not only when we take the bus or fly by plane that we leave our mark on the earth. Oil extraction, refining and transportation, for example, already consume natural resources and destroy natural areas. Many valuable ecosystems around the world are polluted or destroyed for the construction of infrastructure such as roads, the extraction of resources for the production of machinery and the construction of factories, for example. As a result, the basis of life for a huge diversity of species is disappearing, and for us too.

This so-called ecological footprint has so far been difficult to fully grasp. At present, we can only express a fraction of it in simplified figures - theCO2 footprint.

It is therefore all the more important to find holistic solutions that do not focus exclusively on avoiding or reabsorbingCO2, but instead preserve biodiversity and keep the climate stable.
