What options do I have for compensation after the calculation?
Following the calculation, you have the option of offsetting your emissions by protecting a specific area in Canada's temperate rainforest or Peru's tropical rainforest. Because large amounts ofCO2 are stored there. By protecting them in a tangible and permanent way, we prevent the release of storedCO2 and at the same time preserve habitats and biodiversity. Wilderness International buys the areas legally secure and protects them for all future through land registration and a sitftungskonstrukt. For your donation you will receive a certificate with the exact geo-coordinates of the protected forest area, so that it is directly traceable which piece of primeval forest has been permanently protected with your compensation amount. If you decide to offset with us, you will receive a detailed evaluation document and ourCO2 certificate, which you can use to communicate that you have offset yourCO2 footprint.
