What does WI Germany do?

Wilderness International Germany, like its two sister foundations in Peru and Canada, is committed to protecting wilderness areas and promoting environmental education and research. Many of the findings from scientific studies conducted in our protected areas are also evaluated by the German team and prepared for educational purposes. We implement environmental protection campaigns with our partners and ambassadors, establish new partnerships, and manage donations. The WI Germany team is also responsible for maintaining our website and further developing our donation tool.

We are actively involved in various projects promoting renaturation, biodiversity, and environmental education. We work closely with schools and have carried out a number of joint projects in the past, such as educational lectures, charity runs, and schoolyard greening initiatives. Our wilderness runs at schools are still an integral part of many curricula. To this end, we have developed a new digital concept that allows schools to get involved themselves. We were also part of the tree planting initiative "My Tree - My City" for many years and are still a recognized nature conservation station of the state of Saxony in Dresden. You can find out more about our local projects here.
